How "fit" must I be to start?
90% of our new students have never attended a yoga class before. Our classes are designed for all fitness levels and body types. All of our classes can make you fit so the sooner you start, the sooner you'll start seeing and feeling changes in your body, in your mind and in your life. As with anything, a dedication to your practice (at least 3 times a week) will bring results more quickly and make those results more permanent.
What if I'm not flexible?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions that keep many people from ever trying yoga. You don't need to be physically flexible to do yoga. All you need is an open, flexible mind. If you respect your limitations as you move your body into different poses and focus on sweating and breathing, your body will tell you where the blocks and imbalances are. As you learn to let go and be in the moment with what is, the tension will release and your range of motion will naturally increase. With time, patience and dedication your body will regain a more child-like suppleness. Remember that the main goal is to build and maintain physical and spiritual vitality, not to wrap your legs behind your head (although that may occur).
